How do I apply for Scrum Master certification?

There are 3 steps to apply for Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
Step 1: Complete the mandatory 2-day training requirement of Scrum Alliance. See our upcoming certification courses.
Step 2: Register with scrumalliance.org and take the one-hour online test. With the guidance of our expert trainers, you are sure to ace the test!
Step 3: Pass the test with a minimum score of 74%, download your certificate and you’re all set for Scrum Mastery!

How do I apply for Product Owner certification?

There are 3 steps to apply for Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification.
Step 1: Complete the mandatory 2-day training requirement of Scrum Alliance. See our upcoming certification courses.
Step 2: Your trainer will update your details on scrumalliance.org. You will receive an email to sign in and accept your CSPO license.
Step 3: Accept your license and download your certificate. That’s it! You’re now ready to deliver more value to your customers.

What is the duration of the Scrum certification course?

Both the CSM and CSPO courses run for 16 hours over two days. With each course you take you earn 16 PDUs for PMI certification and 16 SEUs for Scrum Alliance certification.

Are there any prerequisites for doing the Scrum certification training?

There are no prerequisites for CSM training. Having some basic knowledge of Scrum in a real-world setting is useful, but not compulsory.
There are no prerequisites for CSPO training. However, having a solid foundation in Scrum basics will give you an advantage in understanding the Product Owner’s role at an organizational level.

Do I need to have CSM certification before doing the CSPO course?

No, both courses are mutually exclusive. But those with CSM certification might find it beneficial to take the CSPO course to advance their career.

Who can attend the Scrum certification course?

Everyone’s welcome! While the agile philosophy and its various methodologies like Scrum were indeed developed for the software development fraternity, Scrum certification courses will benefit anyone looking to find a better way to solve complex problems and achieve more agility in their work and personal life.

Is prior knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or any other methodology necessary?

Prior knowledge of Scrum is useful, not mandatory.

Is prior work experience mandatory?

No, you don’t require prior work experience to take the Scrum courses.

What are the options available for class formats?

Can I get Scrum certified without taking the course?

No, you need to complete the mandatory 2-day training course from an authorized trainer and take the online exam (for CSM) in order to get certified.

What is the format and duration of the Scrum certification exam?

The Scrum certification exam is a multiple-choice, closed-book test conducted online. The duration of the test is 60 minutes.

Is there a separate fee for taking the Scrum certification exam?

No, our course fees include the cost of the Scrum certification exam.

What is the passing score for the Scrum certification exam?

You need to get a minimum score of 74% to pass the exam.

How do I get my certificate once I pass the exam?

Once you pass the exam you can download the certificate directly from Scrum Alliance.

Do I have to pay extra for my certificate?

No, our course fees include the initial fee for Scrum certification.

Which certifying body will I get my certificate from?

We only conduct Scrum Alliance accredited CSM® and CSPO® courses so you will get your certificate from the premier certifying body in the agile space.

What is the validity of my Scrum certification?

Your initial Scrum certification is valid for 2 years. To maintain your certification after that, you will need to earn 20 hours of SEUs over two years and pay a renewal fee of $100 ($50/year).
